Forbidden City

Ling to MPA 2nd graders: The Forbidden City: It is super, super BIG. Really Big. Almost 3 miles long. It was so cool because of the golden colors for the emporer. If anyone else in China used that color, they were killed. In the 1800s there was an emporer and empress and when the emporer died the empress tried to put her 10 month old son on the throne but she was really ruling and she was called the dragon lady.

  2. Dear YuLing, Libby and Families,
    (as dictated to Mrs. Scalia..:))

We have gotten your messages and have loved your blog! It is awesome! The Grape Wall of China joke is very funny! It was surprising to see the train car (and we think YuLing's mom is pretty funny...) We liked all of your pictures and thought the Great Wall and the army tomb are amazing. We loved to see you in the pictures in China. How many hours ahead are you in China? We think you might be jet lagged when you get back. Did you manage all of your homework?

We have had a great week back at school. We have been working on biographies and are reading about Helen Keller and Balto. Claire wants to add that she just saw the statue of Balto in New York. We are also starting animal research projects. What animal are you doing? We are happy it is Friday.

We hope you are having a fun time. We miss you a lot. We are having fun seeing your pictures and hearing about your adventure. We will check back with you next week.

    Love from,
    Your Second Grade Friends

PS. I sent the blog site home in my news note so kids can check from home too! -Anne
